- Greenacres incorporated as Greenacres City on May 24, 1926 — the name drawn out of a hat — and then stayed small for another forty-four years: 1,731 residents in 1970, 8,780 in 1980, 18,683 in 1990, 27,569 in 2000 and 43,990 in 2020.
